Hello! My name is Jason Baker – I am an avid climber, skier, mountain biker, and cat Dad. I grew up on the Front Range of Colorado and have spent most of my life playing around in the mountains. I started climbing when I was 14 years old in the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Back then, I drew a lot of inspiration from the desert and summiting desert towers – I mean, there really is no better feeling than sitting on top of a desert spire. Since then, I have enjoyed just about every discipline in climbing, but my main passion has been for alpine rock, with playgrounds like Rocky Mountain National Park and the Mt. Evans Wilderness providing easy access to some of the best alpine rock in North America.

I found snowboarding not long after I discovered climbing, around the age of 15, and fell in love with sliding down snow. The means of sliding down snow took a turn when I started working at Wilderness Exchange in Denver in 2010, where I discovered skiing and the backcountry. It seems these days, you will find me on two planks more often than one. Working at Wilderness Exchange not only taught me how to ski safely in the backcountry, but also taught me everything I know today about the Outdoor Industry. Having worked at Wilderness Exchange for over a decade means that I have held just about every position in a specialty retail store – from sales, to floor management, to buying, to General Manager.

I joined the KNS team in Spring 2022 and I couldn’t be more excited to be working with the awesome brands we represent, the top-notch specialty retailers in the Rockies, and the best sales agency anywhere!
